Earth: Snowball

This is the dramatic story of “Snowball Earth,” a time 850 million years ago when the entire planet froze from pole to equator. Triggered by the breakup of a giant supercontinent, Earth’s deep freeze nearly wiped out the first complex life forms just as they were beginning to evolve. After 50 million years, volcanic eruptions sparked a global thaw, unleashing a burst of life that led to the first animals we could see and touch. Closed captions. 58 minutes.2023
