How to Avoid Frauds and Scams for Older Adults
Retired lawyer, Sheldon Parker, offers general advice and information for older adults about identifying and avoiding frauds and scams. The presentation will cover a wide range of related topics including computer, phone, ATM and credit card security, and different types of frauds and scams like bank fraud, romance/dating scams, and more.
A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, Sheldon was a founding partner of Parker & Zener LLP, a law firm specializing in Real Estate, Commercial, Tax and Estate work. Throughout his 42 year legal career he was a frequent speaker and lecturer. Having retired from active practice in early 2016, Sheldon now lectures on politics, fraud, elder abuse and Estate planning throughout the GTA. He has extensive nonprofit volunteer experience, and has held senior board and executive positions in various organizations throughout the GTA. Sheldon is married with two children and four grandchildren.
