Caribbean Storytime with Yolanda T. Marshall
Join Yolanda T. Marshall for a Caribbean storytime. We will read Marching North and will be introduced to the remarkable legacy of Caribbean soldiers who served and fought for Canada. Followed by a reading of "Brown Girl in the Snow" as we sing and dance to a popular Caribbean folk song.
Yolanda T. Marshall is an award-winning Guyanese-born Canadian author and columnist. She is also the author of over 20 books, including Brown Girl in the Snow, A Piece of Black Cake for Santa, Sweet Sorrel Stand, What's in the Cookie Tin?, C is for Carnival, Hot Cross Buns for Everyone and My Soca Birthday Party: with Jollof Rice and Steel Pans. This traditionally published author writes diverse, inclusive, and festive children’s literature that represents the African/Caribbean diaspora.
