Dementia Awareness presented by Alzheimer Society of Toronto

Event description

This workshop will provide care partners, members of the general public, or professionals with an overview of dementia and Alzheimer's disease. It will focus on being aware of the signs and symptoms and the importance of early diagnosis.

Learning Objectives

• Differentiate between Alzheimer's disease and dementia

• Describe the characteristic brain changes that occur in Alzheimer's Disease

• List the warning signs of dementia and state how to get a diagnosis.

• Discuss ways to support the person's symptoms and remaining strengths.

• Recall services and supports available at the Alzheimer Society of Toronto
