SP Book Club
Discuss diverse and inclusive titles from a variety of genres on the fourth Thursday of every month!
This month we will be discussing Soft as Bones by Chayna Marie Sage.
Chyana Marie Sage weaves a poetic memoir about overcoming the legacy of generational trauma through the power of traditional Cree healing. Tracing the pain from her father’s incarceration and the Sixties Scoop to her own struggles with addiction, she examines the dark footprint of colonialism on her family. Ultimately, this is a story of hope, braiding personal narrative with ancient ceremony to reclaim a fractured past.
Pick up a physical copy at the branch before the meeting, or find copies through our website in various formats. Registration is required and begins Aug. 27, 2026.
