Event description

Discuss diverse and inclusive titles from a variety of genres on the fourth Thursday of every month!

This month we will be discussing Rouge by Mona Awad.

When Belle returns to La Jolla for her beauty-obsessed mother’s funeral, she is lured into a surreal, cult-like world centered around a mysterious spa and its glowing red jellyfish. This descent into "Sephora Horror" blends grief with gory mayhem to expose the suffocating toxicity of the beauty industry. Ultimately, it is a ferocious fairy tale about the dangerous obsession with eternal youth.

Pick up a physical copy at the branch before the meeting, or find copies through our website in various formats. Registration is required and begins Aug. 27, 2026.
