Make Tax Your Hero

Event description

CPA Canada has the goal of delivering unbiased objective financial literacy education and information to Canadians to improve the overall state of financial literacy in Canada. Programs are evidence-based and delivered by expert CPA Canada volunteers who are passionate about increasing financial literacy.

Learning Objectives for Participants:

  • Understand how the Canadian tax system works, and what taxes are used for
  • Understand who should file a tax return and the many government benefits gained from filing a tax return
  • Understand the difference between a tax credit and a tax deduction
  • Learn how to file a tax return and what happens once it is filed.
  • Resources, such as free tax clinics, which are available to assist in filing a tax return

Registration is encouraged. Drop-ins welcome until capacity is reached.
