Event description

High blood pressure is one of the most common yet misunderstood health conditions, often progressing silently until serious complications occur. Accurate measurement, early identification of underlying causes, and effective management are essential to reducing long-term risks and protecting overall health.

What to Expect:

  • Introduction to Measuring Blood Pressure: Learn how blood pressure is accurately measured for diagnosing and managing hypertension.
  • Finding the Cause of Hypertension: Explore new data on testing for underlying causes of high blood pressure, such as the underdiagnosed and treatable condition of primary aldosteronism.
  • Lifestyle Factors and Recommendations: Review the evidence behind dietary patterns and other lifestyle factors that can help lower blood pressure and support heart health.

Dr. Lisa Dubrofsky is a nephrologist and hypertension specialist at Women's College Hospital and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto with the job profile of clinician in quality and innovation.
