ROM's Mark Peck and biologist Emily Rondel take us on a tour through the diversity of bird species found in Ontario.
From watching the soaring Red-tailed Hawk to hearing the haunting call of the Common Loon, birds are our daily connection to nature. A Field Guide to Birds of Ontario offers detailed descriptions of migrant and resident Ontario bird species and accidentals, including notes on appearance, sound, habitat, and breeding.
Mark Peck and Emily Rondel speak with author Kyo Maclear about their essential companion for the nature enthusiast and about how birds add beauty to every corner of our lives, from the most built-up inner city to the most remote forest, reminding us that we are part of nature, no matter where we are.
Q&A and book signing to follow. Books available for purchase.
In collaboration with the Royal Ontario Museum.
