Event description

Describing music in words has always been a challenge - what exactly does "warm" or "dreamy" or "punchy" sound like? When you're using AI to create music, the words you choose make all the difference between getting something magical and getting something that misses the mark entirely.

In this session, you'll discover why music is so hard to describe, then put that knowledge to work by experimenting with different prompting techniques to see how accurately you can guide AI toward the sound in your head. You'll also learn advanced strategies, including how to use one AI to help you write better instructions for another. No prior music or programming experience is required.

Registration is required.

This program is part of the Innovator in Residence (AI and Music Production) program, which is designed to help beginner and intermediate learners build knowledge and creative skills and get hands-on with current AI tools in music production and learn about the history, copyright and ethics of generative music.
