Join the Osborne Collection of Early Children's Books for our 22nd Annual Albert and Clara Lahmer Memorial Lecture: Picturing Stories by Barbara Reid.

Award winning picture book illustrator and author, Barbara Reid has been telling stories with pictures for as long as she can remember. She will be sharing her experiences from her prolific career and her recent book, The Story Hunter. The Story Hunter follows a prehistoric child’s first experience of seeing and creating cave art.

Barbara Reid’s unique Plasticine illustrations are recognized around the world. Her picture books have won dozens of awards including a Governor General’s Award and the Vicky Metcalf Award. Reid’s work has been published around the globe, and her original artwork is represented in the Osborne Collection. Reid was appointed to the Order of Canada for her contributions to children’s literature and is the Honorary Chair of Family Literacy Day.

This free event will be held on the lower level of the Lillian H. Smith Branch in the Auditorium. Doors will open at 6:00 pm and the event will start at 6:30 pm. No registration is required. Everyone is welcome.

Book signings will take place before the lecture from 5:00-6:00 pm on the 4th floor in the Osborne Collection.
