Online event

Event description

Curious about artificial intelligence or want to learn practical AI skills for work and personal use? Join our staff-facilitated learning circle to complete the self-paced Google AI Essentials specialization.

This 10-hour introductory-level specialization, offered through Coursera, is available for free to learning circle participants. It is made up of five courses, each containing four units that consist of short videos, articles, assignments and a short multiple-choice quiz.

By completing the specialization, you will learn:

  • How AI works
  • How to write effective prompts
  • How to use generative AI tools responsibly
  • How to identify AI's potential biases and avoid harm
  • How to stay up to date with AI news
  • After you complete the course, you earn a Google certificate and a badge to share with others

Learning Circles are study groups guided by library staff for people who want to complete the Google AI Essentials specialization together in a welcoming space:

  • Learners meet weekly and work together through course materials.
  • Participants are expected to commit to attending all four learning circle sessions.
  • No AI experience is required.
