Transforming Garbage: Textile Painting
By using donated fabrics, participants will learn how to use shape and textiles to create a textile painting. This workshop will help young artists gain a better understanding of the elements and principles of art and design by understanding texture, colour, and dimension by working with materials that can be reused. Textiles are easily collected as an item that might be discarded, initiating the conversation of art making with upcycled materials. This workshop can be modified for different age groups by adjusting the adhesive methods from glue to sewing.
