Event description

This workshop is presented by the North York Central Library's 2026 Writer in Residence David Silverberg, whose focus is on Journalism.

From hard news articles to creative non-fiction, specifics matter. Concrete descriptions of your article’s location and its main interviewees will help immerse readers in your story. In this workshop, you’ll take part in several exercises designed to bring colour and sensory details to your writing. You’ll also learn from examples written by some of the most iconic journalists in the world such as Joan Didion and Pierre Berton.

This lecture will be followed by Q&A
