Event description

This panel discussion is presented by the North York Central Library's 2026 Writer in Residence David Silverberg, whose focus is on Journalism.

Learn from editors who have witnessed it all. Joining David on a panel discussion to share their insight on ideas they’d like to see from freelance journalists, Toronto-based editors Navneet Alang (opinions editor, The Toronto Star) and Judith Pereira (arts editor, The Globe & Mail) will reveal their favourite pitches and discuss the types of articles they publish. The panel will also discuss pay rates, developing relationships with editors and their top Do’s and Don’ts.
