Early Japanese Families in Ontario
While most early Japanese immigrants to Canada settled on the west coast, a few made Ontario their homes. This lecture by Toronto genealogist, Janice Nickerson, tells the stories of eight Japanese families who lived in Ontario (mostly Toronto) before 1910, the businesses they ran, and the records she used to discover them, including census, civil registration, city directories, passenger lists, newspapers and the records of the Office of the Custodian of Enemy Property.
