Secrets of Rosehill Reservoir

on September 23, 2026, 6:30pm to 7:30pm

Event description

Rosehill Reservoir and David A. Balfour Park are the largest green spaces in midtown Toronto. Join photojournalist Ian Darragh for an illustrated talk celebrating this much-loved park.

You will learn about the many environmental benefits of urban parks; Toronto’s unique ravines; local history, and how Rosehill Reservoir is a key component of Toronto’s pioneering public drinking water system which saved thousands of children from outbreaks of typhoid and other waterborne diseases.

Ian Darragh is a former editor-in-chief of Canadian Geographic and writer for National Geographic. He contributed two feature articles about Rosehill Reservoir and David A. Balfour Park in Spacing magazine.
