Event description

As elections take place in an increasingly complicated online world, voters are exposed to a huge mix of news, social media posts, AI-generated content, and false information spread by organized groups. New digital technologies have made it easier for people to learn about issues and take part in civic life, but they have also raised concerns about trust, fair elections, and respectful public discussion.

This panel brings together experts in misinformation, journalism, and election administration to explore the challenges and opportunities facing democracy today. How are AI and new technologies changing the way people get information? What do these changes mean for voters, journalists, and election officials? And what can be done to build public trust in elections while helping people stay informed and engaged in public life?
